Horytsvit 8
Here’s how our 8th camp went!
Have you ever lost your own shoes on a winter hike? It turns out that’s possible. One of our young campers ran down the slope so recklessly that the two-metre snowdrifts didn’t just grab his boots but seemed to swallow them whole – there was no sign of them anywhere!
That’s where we learned what teamwork means, not just in training sessions but in real action: with hands, with feet, and with plastic sledges, the participants dug through the endless white field in search of treasure. And you know what? Seek and you shall find!
But besides this funny story, at Horytsvit the boys and girls found inspiring sculpture sessions and a sensitive play of light and darkness in the visual art classes, and accepted the invitation to be freer and more expressive through music and acting.
We know that after every camp, the teenagers are left with countless stories of camp adventures that they can return to in their memories.
But behind these stories there is always a deeper layer of feeling: the experience of kindness, togetherness, trust… As one of our participants said at the closing circle: “At the camp I remembered what it’s like to live without apathy.”
It is for transformations like this that we create Horytsvit.
