Horytsvit 19
A winter story from Drahobrat. Imagine…
Morning in the mountains always begins quietly. A light frost clings to the pines, and the teenagers are already gathering for the first circle. Here they learn to listen to one another, even when words get tangled between different languages.
The workshops are full of creativity.
The teenagers draw boldly, try new techniques and create their own worlds on sheets of paper.
They play instruments, improvise and try arranging their own compositions. For many, it becomes a return to music, and for the adult team, a lesson in openness and spontaneity. In the end, a song about the camp is born, one that will echo in our hearts for a long time.
They make their own films – funny, sarcastic, profound. And there’s even an Oscar ceremony of their own!
A sign-language performance with projections of Zaporizhzhia is deeply moving. It’s about how a city lives on as long as there are people in it. About love for your home. About how you can change the world if you stay in touch with what matters.
The evenings are surprisingly warm, even when a curtain of snow falls outside the window.
In the quiet of the sauna, the teenagers learn to slow down, notice their own needs and take care of themselves. And, of course, in the evenings they gather to dance to their favourite songs.
Two weeks. Two weeks of shared life, creativity, laughter, mistakes, discoveries and change.
Horytsvit 19 became a place where teenagers learned to be a community, and adults learned to listen to them, open up and see the world through their eyes.
Horytsvit is a space where you are heard, where you can honestly create yourself.
