Horytsvit 18
Take summer in your hand, pour summer in a glass…
“Take summer in your hand, pour summer in a glass, a tiny glass of course, the smallest tingling sip for children; change the season in your veins by raising glass to lip and tipping summer in.”
Following Bradbury’s words, this is how we made our 18th Horytsvit – a special substance that can warm us on the hardest days and remind us how to be alive.
We gathered the last touches of warmth, wandering the paths of Zakarpattia, dipping our bare feet in the river and making a true imprint of summer, co-authored with the sun.
The Laboratory invited us into the space of our inner heroes. We learned to see and value our own qualities.
We got to know our emotions in a workshop run by our junior mentors, which ended in short films and a Radish Oscars ceremony!
The last evening was memorable for performances based on Dandelion Wine. And then – a surprise! The participants staged plays of their own. The stage was full of intrigue and investigations, and a parody talent show where every joke proved how closely we had been paying attention to one another.
We lived the camp so that, on cold days, we can open the memory and feel summer running through our veins again.
